We have a lively example of Jeff Bezos, an American entrepreneur, an e-commerce pioneer, founder of a space exploration company and owner of ‘The Washington post’. With heaps of successful business ventures, he is known as one of the top wealthiest people in the world. Creating a successful business empire of wealth from his e-commerce business, Bezos is among one who turned their life from nothing to everything within a matter of years.

The legend was born in New Mexico year 1964. The immense love of computers since his early years. He studied computer science and electrical engineering from renowned Princeton University. After completing his graduation, he stepped out and worked in Wall Street. In 1990 he achieved the position of youngest senior vice president at investment firm D.E.Shaw.

After four years, he quit his lucrative job to initiate Amazon.com as an online store that became one of the biggest success stories. Working out of his garage with few employees began developing software with Bezos which eventually expanded operations in a two-bedroom house with three Sun Microstation. As well all know, the initial success of the company was meteoric. Later he craved more for success, and in 2013 he purchased ‘The Washington Post’ and in 2017 Amazon ruled Whole Foods grocery chain.

The legendary entrepreneur founded Blue Origin in September 2000. The human spaceflight startup company brought a large tract of land in West Texas in 2006 for a launching and testing facility. Jeff makes his investment through Bezos expeditions and puts money into companies like Airbnb, Business Insider, Grail, General Assembly, Twitter and Uber.

Jeff Bezos salary:

As per August 2019, Forbes and Bloomberg reclaimed Bezos net worth of $131 billion. Bezos topped Forbes with a list of wealthiest people in the world for 2018 and 2019.

In February 2017, Bezos donated $10 million to Bezos Earth fund to combat the potentially devastating effects of climatic change.

Jeff Bezos’s Family:

His ex-wife, MacKenzie Tuttle, was working for D.E Shaw in 1992. After a few years, the couple got married and moved to Seattle in 1994. The couple had four children together, three sons and one daughter adopted from China.

Relationship with Lauren Sanchez:

Once after announcing his divorce in January 2019, the National Enquirer published an extramarital affair of Bezos with television host Lauren Sanchez. Lauren Sanchez divorced her husband in the same year, and they made their appearance as a couple in July at Wimbledon.

Some interesting facts:

  1. Jeff was born in January 1964, and he has a passion for science. At the age of 5, when he saw Apollo 11, he wanted to be an astronaut.
  2. In his set up of a science laboratory in a garage, one of the projects he came up with was an electric alarm which kept his siblings away from the room.
  3. When he was a teenager, he spent his summers as a fry cook at Mc Donald’s Miami.
  4. Jeff Bezos is a long term thinker; his plan is to build a 10,000-year clock. He will spend about $42 million on this project, and the watch will tick once for 10,000 years.
  5. A Harvard business review proclaimed him as “Greatest Living CEO” in 2014.
  6. Being an avid reader, he encourages his employees to adopt the same practice.
  7. Bezos earns $2,489 per second, and he is considered to be 38$ richer when compared with British Monarchy.
