1. Marigold

2. Sunflower 

The sunflower, also recognised as Surajmukhi, is a bright colour flower. This flower loves the sun, and that’s why it blooms in the direction of the sunlight and can survive extreme sunlight and heat.

3. Balsam

The national flower of India, the Lotus, also called Kamal, bloom in summers but may require some shade in extreme weather conditions. The Lotus is an aquatic plant and comes in two different colours, i.e., pink and white. All the parts of Lotus plants, such as leaves, flowers, rhizomes, fruit and stems, help make medicines. Even the dried lotus flowers are used for treating excessive bleeding during menstruation. 

5. Roses 

The roses bloom from June to September, but you can have roses until early summer if planted well. The roses require a minimum of 6-8 hours of daylight and ample water. The flowers come in different colours like black, pink, red, yellow, and white, but the standard colour is red. Roses can effectively multiply the beauty of their ambience with their colours and fragrance. 

6. Cosmos 

Garden Cosmos or the Cosmos blooms from the early summers and lasts until the frost. The soft-feathery star shape flowers come in three varied shades, i.e., pink, red, white, and mauve. Only two varieties of cosmos flowers are edible, either in soup or salad dressing. Still, the plant has medicinal uses for treating malaria, and its infused oil has anti-inflammatory properties. 

7. Begonia 

Begonia is among the few flowering plants that can survive the extreme Indian summers. Begonia is easy to grow plant and requires minimal caring. The perennial flower has beautiful flowers, but its foliage is also attractive. The Begonia plant is highly safe and is making a comeback with newer shades like white, orange, pink and yellow. 

8. Peonies 

Peonies are the herbs and always add a fantastic glance to Indian summers. The peonies come in vibrant colours such as pink, yellow, red, orange, white and purple.
